This project demanded the creation of an intuitive, user-friendly platform that would facilitate easy navigation and provide a seamless user experience. As the primary developer and designer for Forwardme.com, my role involved:
Web Design and Development: I was responsible for creating a responsive, clean, and intuitive design that would cater to our user base. This involved conceptualizing, designing, and coding the website's front end, ensuring optimal performance across various devices and web browsers.
User Experience (UX): One of the major challenges was ensuring that the website was easily navigable and that users could find the information they were looking for without any hassle. I addressed this by conducting comprehensive UX research and implementing a design that improved user flow and engagement.
CMS Integration: A key part of this task was integrating a headless CMS, Prismic.io, into our system. This allowed for streamlined content management, enabling non-technical team members to easily update site content while ensuring the site's performance remained uncompromised.
SEO Optimization: To increase organic traffic, I performed thorough SEO optimization. This included conducting keyword research, optimizing website content and metadata, and implementing a comprehensive link-building strategy.
Site Testing and Maintenance: Prior to launch, I executed extensive testing to verify the website's functionality, load time, and responsiveness. Following the launch, I undertook regular site maintenance, troubleshooting any issues that arose, and constantly updating the site to improve the user experience.
In the case of Forwardme, I not only worked on the user interface but also extensively contributed to its overall brand identity. In my view, branding is not just about creating a memorable logo or choosing the right colors. It's about telling the story of the brand, understanding the target audience, and ensuring that every element of design communicates the brand's values and mission effectively.
For Forwardme, I started with comprehensive market research and a deep dive into the brand's goals and values. We aimed to create a brand that resonates with its target users—people seeking an efficient, reliable, and user-friendly shipping solution. The brand needed to communicate trustworthiness, efficiency, and innovation.
The logo I designed is a visual representation of these values—simple, yet modern, encapsulating Forwardme's innovative approach to shipping. The color palette, fonts, and design elements chosen were all reflective of the brand's commitment to providing an easy-to-use, efficient service.
Moreover, I ensured that the brand identity was consistently reflected across all user touchpoints – from the landing page and registration process to the dashboard and check-out—to create a cohesive and immersive brand experience.
In this project, I learned that good branding involves strategic thinking, creativity, and a deep understanding of both the brand and its customers. It was a wonderful challenge to create a brand identity that not only stands out in the market but also resonates deeply with its users.
